I really, REALLY hated Robert Zemeckis’ Allied, so when my editor asked for a piece to promote Amberlough on the Tor/Forge blog, with the prompt “worlds at a slant,” I used my soapbox to really lay into creators falling back on stereotypes about the past. Inexcusable narrative laziness. Ugh.

It’s not JUST about how much I hated Allied. It’s also about representation and character complexity and really good, important things.
